from Nefesh B’Nefesh: Yerushalayim Torah Academy for Girls
The goal of YTA is to ensure a successful absorption for new immigrants in high school by focusing on each individual student’s needs. The school provide a warm, caring environment which prepares English speaking girls for life in Israel. While there are new Olim in the school, most of the students have been in Israel for a few years.YTA offers a full Bagrut program. Students have a choice of three majors: computer science, art or dance. Students who have a good level of Hebrew can join one of two majors at Neve Ruchama: interdisciplinary science or graphic design. All classes are taught in English except for the Ulpan classes. The school provides the students with a tremendous amount of individualized attention in all subjects and especially in math. There is a rich program of extra-curricular activities which includes a weekly tiyul on Thursdays.Classes take place on Sunday – Thursday from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM in the building of Ulpanat Neve Ruchama.Students come from Jerusalem, Efrat, Maale Adumim, Yad Binyamin, Beit Shemesh and Hashmonaim.

Dear Parents and Students,

Yerushalayim Torah Academy (Y.T.A) is a Yeshiva High School for English speakers located in Yerushalayim. It is designed especially for the Oleh and offers a new and innovative program that has become the model for the Ministry of Education.

Y.T.A. schools are partnered with an Israeli High School and our students become integrated with their Israeli peers. Students participate in a full Bagrut (Matriculation) program; those who are interested are prepared for the G.E.D. as well. Our students’ bagrut record is impressive.

Y.T.A. offers excellence in education. Students are inspired to take their studies seriously; at the same time, individual differences are accepted and respected. We focus on each student’s needs and encourage him/her to maximize his/her capabilities.

Y.T.A. believes in the Jewish value of self-improvement. We inspire our students to build warm and deep relationships with G-d, their teachers, parents, and friends. We rejoice in watching them mature and develop into positive and contributing members of Israeli society. Indeed, it is our profound desire to create a community that will serve as our talmidim’s support system so that they can comfortably acclimate to life in Israel.

I hope you will enjoy your virtual tour of YTA and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours,

Rabbi David Samson

Dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said,”This is the Receiving Section”. Here, all petitions to Hashem said in prayer are received.

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.[wpex Read more]

The angel then said to me, “This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.” I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. “This is the Acknowledgment Section, my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed.” How is it that there is no work going on here? ‘ I asked.

“So sad,” the angel sighed. “After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments”
“How does one acknowledge Hashem’s blessings? ” I asked.

“Simple,” the angel answered. Just say, “Thank you, Hashem. ”

“What blessings should they acknowledge?” I asked.

“If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy. ”

“And if you received this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.”

“If you woke up this morning with more health than illness. You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.”

“If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation. You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.”

“If you can attend a shul without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.”

“If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare.”

“If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you’re unique to all those in doubt and despair.”

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are

ATTN: Acknowledge Dept.

“Thank you Hashem, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it. ”

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed with, how can you not send it on?

I thank Hashem for everything, especially all my family and friends.[/wpex]

Kiychi’s Diary

Kiychi is writing in her diary while eating Ice Cream.

Dear Diary, or should we just say I think my life is over with. My humans have adapted 4 cats last week.

I’m a very likeable cat in many ways but – when that new female came here I managed to keep her in one room.

The kittens however resist all efforts of mine to get out of my way. The female now has P.T.S.D. at this point…

My only victory, however, the kittens have taken over!

The only thing that has sustained me this week has been Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream.

The fleas and diarrhea are now gone only to be replaced by fungus and barf occasionally.

I’m hoping their manners will improve. In the meantime I eat in the windowsill

Yours truly

Kiychi Cat.
